So many of Europe's players are coming on song at exactly the right time for the tilt at history. Chubby Chandler
What a joy it was to see Danny Willett playing golf with a smile on his face again.
The result at the Italian Open may not have ultimately been what he wanted, but finishing second to home hero Francesco Molinari was no disgrace whatsoever, especially since it came on the back of a closing 66 and a very welcome return to top form.
I'm sure Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke also enjoyed watching it as Danny and Matt Fitzpatrick (16th) both showed how much they are looking forward to Hazeltine next week.
So many of Europe's players are coming on song at exactly the right time for the tilt at history and a record breaking potential fourth straight victory. Just like the players, I can't wait to get there.
Although the main focus is on the Ryder Cup at this time, several of our other players have goals of their own to achieve.
Not least Scott Jamieson, whose recent form has given him a great chance of rescuing his season. A second successive top 10 in Italy couldn't have come at a better time for the determined Scot.
Dave Horsey has shown what can be done with a consistent run of form because he has jumped up the rankings to the verge of qualifying for the top 60 who will contest the final stages of the Race to Dubai.
His top 10 in Milan was another testimony to his drive and desire and now he is reaping the rewards.
