Chubby Chandler: From The Open to the Olympics

Lee Westwood will be looking to build on the excellent form he showed at The Masters and US Open.
It seems strange to be talking about an other event during Open Championship week, but Norwegian Espen Kofstad and Kiwi Ryan Fox have forced me off piste for a change.
Espen and Ryan are two of the nicest guys out there and both sealed places in their respective national sides for The Olympics at the weekend's D+D Slovakia Challenge.
Just months after wondering when he'd ever play again, Espen emerged victorious from a play-off to claim his Rio ticket while Ryan's fourth place was enough to get him into the New Zealand side.
Well done boys and good luck in Brazil where they will be joined by six other ISM golfers including Masters champion Danny Willett.
Turning to The Open, if the weather forecast doesn't change (some hope) our Troon troops will need all their bad weather gear this week.
The west coast links is scheduled for a battering so there could be some interesting scores for the third major championship of the season.
We've already got one grand slam title in the bag following Danny's Augusta success and we have plenty of runners this week all capable of challenging for the silver claret jug we last had our hands on five years ago.
It's good to see the 2011 champion Darren Clarke back in action on his preferred links test while Lee Westwood will be looking to build on the excellent form he showed at The Masters and US Open.
Lee's overdue a major, but he never stops trying and I'm convinced the door will open for him one day so why not this week.
Nobody will begrudge him one.
