Top Three Finish For Lee in Qatar

Lee WestwoodLee Westwood was back on form this week playing in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters where he finished in a tie for 3rd place. Lee shot rounds of 68, 69, 70 and 70 giving him a four round total of 277, eleven under par.

 

Westwood made a run at the title and had a spell that included four birdies in five holes but had a three putt bogey on the 16th which put paid to his chances of victory. Sweden's Robert Karlsson won the tournament after shooting a final round 65 and finishing on fifteen under par.

 

South African Charl Schwartzel, the current leader in the 2010 Race to Dubai finished in a tie for 14th at five under par alongside compatriot Louis Oosthuizen and England's Chris Wood.

 

Dave Horsey had another good week and finished in a tie for 20th, Simon Dyson was tied 28th and Richard Finch tied 49th. 

 

Jeev Milkha Singh missed out on the tournament in Qatar this week as his wife Kudrat gave birth to their son on Friday. Jeev will be back in action in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic which begins on Thursday 4th February.
