It's been a fantastic couple of weeks for me, I've just about played flawless golf and have made three bogeys all week

Charl SchwartzelSouth Africa's Charl Schwartzel took top honours once more this week at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club and won the Joburg Open, just seven days after winning the Africa Open at East London.

 

Charl started the day at eighteen under par and put together a scintillating final round of 66 to add to his first three rounds of 63, 68 and 64 leaving him on the winning total of twenty three under par to win the Joburg Open by six shots.

 

In the Africa Open and Joburg Open combined Charl was an amazing forty three under par for his last eight rounds of golf. He started the week at 51st in the World Rankings and will now move well inside the top 50 and will almost certainly be making his debut at the Masters in April. Charl also extends his lead in the European Tour Race to Dubai where he occupies the number one spot and is approximately €300,000 ahead of his nearest rival, Pablo Martin.

There was a strong challenge from Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke who finished in a tie for second place on seventeen under par, on the final hole he holed his chip shot from the fringe of the green to make an eagle three. Darren played solid golf throughout the tournament but his 68 in the last round was not good enough to catch the on fire Schwartzel

 

South Africa's James Kamte who finished in a tie for 4th place on fourteen under par.  It was also another excellent week for Holland's Joost Luiten who finished in a tie for 6th on twelve under par.

 

South African youngster Josh Cunliffe put in an fine performance and finished in a tie for 10th spot on eleven under par and compatriot Louis Oosthuizen finished in a tie for 12th on ten under.
