Kyle sealed his place on the Sunshine Tour for 2012 via tour qualifying school at the end of 2011.
He only began playing golf at the age of 17. Prior to that, baseball was his sport of choice, where he competed for South Africa at junior level.
Kyle majored in accounting at West Florida University and received his bachelor's degree in management at Georgia Tech.
He transferred from Division II West Florida in Pensacola - where he earned All-America honours twice – and at Georgia Tech became an All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer and one of the nation's top ten Division I golfers by the time he graduated in May 2011.
He earned a regular spot in Georgia Tech's line-up in 2009-10 and played in every event but one for two years.
As a junior Kyle won four South African Junior Golf Foundation tournaments during 2003-04 and finished sixth on the 2004 Junior Order or Merit.
