Andrew 'Chubby' Chandler, Managing Director
International Sports Management (ISM) was founded in 1989 by Andrew Chandler, a PGA European Tour professional. Effectively retiring from life on tour in September 1989 after fifteen years, 'Chubby' (as he is commonly known) started ISM out of a small suite of offices at Mere Golf & Country Club in Cheshire in the North West of England.
Starting out with just 4 clients - Carl Mason, Phil Harrison, Denis Durnian and Derrick Cooper - Chubby put into formal practice what he had been doing unofficially whilst he was still playing. Known as one of the 'wheeler dealers' on tour, Chubby had regularly looked around to get the best deals for his fellow players for things such as hotels, flights and car hire - in short, to reduce the many costs associated with playing the European Tour. Certainly, in the 'journeyman' ranks that Chubby often found himself on tour, every saving was crucial in an attempt to make a profit.
As his first clients understood, Chubby's progression to management was a natural step and 1999 saw the passing of ISM's 10th birthday - testament to the company's success in what is a highly competitive environment.
Chubby now successfully represents more than 30 professional golfers from across the globe including the UK, South Africa and India.
